Following the cancellation of a huge New Order show at Alexandra Head in Cardiff, The Charlton’s lead singer Tim Burgess placed £500 behind a Cardiff bar for fans of his band and fans of New Order, according to Wales Online.
The Charlatans and New Order, part of the The Bay Series, were set to take the stage at the outdoor venue on October 22nd, but the organizers of the event pulled the show after extreme weather forced a cancellation due to concerns over health and safety of all involved.
Burgess, who said he was “gutted” about the cancellation of the show, took to Instagram to tell fans that Tiny Rebel on Westgate Street would play host to disappointed fans as there was £500 behind the bar:
“From 6pm tonight there’ll be £500 behind the bar at @tinyrebelcardiff – its open all day so you can head down there early. Liam has promised that the tunes will be amazing (plenty of Charlatans and New Order).”
“A chance for those who have travelled to get together. Sorry again.”
Additionally, Burgess said that drinks would be available from 6pm and fans who have proof of tickets can claim free drinks.
“And tweet me pics and updates” he added in the social media post.
Tiny Rebel Brew Company would add an additional £500, bringing the total behind the bar to £1,000.
